Rules for Admission

 

1.         To get admission, the students are to fill the admission form in their own handwriting (Admission form is

             attached with the prospectus)

2.         The candidate will not be eligible to have admission, only by submitting the admission form in the office.

3.         The candidate must study the prospectus carefully before filling the form.

4.         The duly completed admission form must be submitted in the office by 7-07-09. The candidate must get

            the receipt after submitting the form.

5.         The Different forms are to be filled for getting admission in Arts/Computer Science  group. The form filled for

            one group is not usable for another group.

6.         The College is not responsible for the forms rejected by University.

7.         The forms will not be accepted after the due date.

8.         The incomplete forms will be rejected.

9.         Merit will be prepared on the basis of earlier passed examinations.

10.       Only those candidates will be admitted who have passed the lower recent class in 2008.

11.       The failures will not be entertained.

12.       The drop outs (gap cases) will not be entertained.

13.       Compartment case in 10 +2 will not get admission in B. A. I (Arts) Computer Science.

14.       The students detained from college will not be admitted.

15.       The black listed students will not be entertained.

16.       The students caught in cheating cases during house tests in college will not be admitted.

17.       Only college regular students will get admission in B. A. II & B. A. III.

18.       The candidates whose result has been delayed is supposed to submit their form by the due dates. Such candidates can get admission by showing their result card during interview. No claim will be accepted after due dates.

19.       The wards of college teachers and personnel fulfilling the conditions of admission as denoted by university will be preferred.

20.       Ragging is banned in the college, the student caught for ragging will be punished and can be rusticated.

21.       The students, whose result for 10 + 2 is declared late by P. S. E. B. can be admitted without late fee from10-08-09 to within 15 working days and their presence will be counted from the date of admission. The consent of Vice Chancellor will be considered after the due time period.

22.       The reason for delay in the declaration of result of revaluation after 31st December must be reported to the Vice Chancellor. Only Vice Chancellor can grant the permission for their admission and Syndicate will follow him. The student has right to plea for his admission before Vice Chancellor.

 

 

 

Instruction for filling the Admission From

 

            The attested copies of following documents are to be attached along with the admission form. No Document will be allowed to be attached or detached from the form after due date. The candidate's category will not be shifted during admission.

The candidate will fill his parent's name with the same spellings as per his certificates.

(a)       Birth Certificate (Merit or + 2 certificate).

(b)       D. M. C. or certificate of currently passed class. (attached).

(c)        Character certificate from last institution attended. (Private Students).

(d)       Two passport size photographs, one fixed to the admission form and other attached to it.

(e)       Eligibility certificates for states/boards other than of Punjab (except. C. B. S. E. ) and for the students other

            than Panjab University/College.

(f)         Migration certificate for students of other universities/board (other than Punjab).

(g)       Caste certificate for those desirous to take benefit of SC/BC category are to attach the        SC/BC certificates

            along with the income certificate attested by the Executive Magistrate.

(i)         Medical certificate related to blood group.

NOTE:- The students will bring original certificate and receipt on the day of interview.

Total Seats:-

While considering all the teaching staff and other circumstances the no. of seats in the college are fixed. These can not be increased considering the management of college. The Principal can reject the admission of any candidate. The no. of seats is as below:-

            If the no. of students remain less than 15 in any course, they have to change their subject. The subject in which the no. of students is only 15, the students will not be allowed to change the subject.

Special Instructions for Reserved Quota :-

(a)       Caste certificate is must. The children who belong to SC/BC and their parent's annual income is less than Rs. 100000/- will be considered only. Therefore income certificate must be submitted.

(b)       Caste certificate/income certificate by Additional Commissioner/Sub Divisional Magistrate/Executive Magistrate/Ist Class Magistrate/Notary. Income certificate can be attested by the above stated officers.

(c)        The children of B.S.F./Armed forces/C.R.P.F. persons should attach their relative commanding officer's or Discharge Certificate.

(d)       The players are admitted after being tested of their merit and ability on the spot. Only those players are admitted as per rule who are able to play in college team and participate in University games on behalf of college. During the admission of such players the teams and games which are recognised by university are considered.

(e)       The children whose parents are teachers providing their services in govt. or P. U. Chandigarh educational institution, should attach the certificate from the head of that institution. The certificate from head of the High School must be attested by D. E. O. if mother is teacher/lecturer, her husband's name must be written on the certificate.

Selection of Subjects:-

1.         The students can be refused to get any Subject in B. A. I in case the no of seats are filled.

2.         If the no. of candidates to adopt a Subject increases, the selection of students will be done on the basis of a test.

3.         The student have to adopt the Subject being taught in the college.

4.         On adopting wrong Subject code the student has to pay the fine of Rs. 1500/- himself as per University rules.

Change of Subject :-

1.         No Subject group can be changed without Principal's permission.

2.         The students of B. A. I can apply for changing their subject within one month of  admission. The subject will only be changed if there is fewer no of students in the subject group. His lectures will be counted from the date of the change of subject.

3.         The gap cases admitted in science/commerce can not change their subject/faculty.

Fee Concession :-

1.         This facility will be provided only to the poor and intelligent students.

2.         The fee concession will not be granted for failures or the students who have compartment/reappear.

3.         This facility will be cancelled in case of absence or failure in house tests.

Scholarships :-

1.         National Scholarship Scheme.

2.         State Govt. Merit Scholarship.

3.         National Scholarship for teacher's wards.

4.         Non-Hindi speaking state scholarship.

5.         Scholarship to SC/ST, BC and lower income Group students.

6.         Scholarship from Soldier Board.

7.         University Scholarship.

8.         Dewan Som Nath/ Prem Kaur Scholarship.

            The deserving students must contact college office to get necessary information and forms for scholarship. The SC/BC students must collect the scholarship forms and complete these and submit these in the college office within 15 days of admission. No form will be accepted after due date.

Special Instructions:-

1.         The students of the college must maintain discipline in the college campus and obey the rules and      regulations.

2.         The students must not bring outsiders in the college campus. If any outsider enters the college it must be reported to the college office/professor or Discipline Committee.

3.         The outsider will be handed over to police.

4.         The students bringing outsiders will be fined.

5.         The students must keep their I Card with them. The students, without I Card would be fined.

6.         The students will not be allowed to take house test without I Card.

7.         The necessary information for students will be displayed on notice board.

8.         The parents must enquire about their ward from time to time. The college will not be responsible for keeping the parents informed about the activities of their wards.

9.         The students responsible tearing the notices will be fined.

10.       The students must not destroy the plants or college property other wise they will be fined.

11.       The students will be fined on misbehaving with professors or other staff. The report of the concerned professor regarding student's conduct will be considered true.

12.       Use of ill words is strictly prohibited in the college.

13.       No notice should be pasted on notice board without principal's permission. The students going against this rule will be fined.

14.       Mobile Phones/ Pager are prohibited in the classes. They will be confiscated and strict action will be taken against the student.

House Tests:-

1.         There will be two house tests in a session.

2.         First house test will be held in Sept/Oct. having 40 marks per paper for each subjects.

3.         2nd house test will be held in December/January carrying 60 marks for each subject.

4.         Both the house tests will be compulsory for the student. The student will be fined Rs. 300/- for remaining absent from the house test.

5.         The students have to obtain 25% marks in both the tests. The students, not fulfilling the conditions will not be allowed to attempt University Exams.

6.         The Internal Assessment will be marked on the basis of marks obtained in the both house tests.

7.         Being unable to attempt the house test, the student has to take permission from principal explaining all his reasons and proofs and all this must be done before the test starts. No request will be entertained after the exam commences.

8.         For the student's convenience, a special test will be orgainsed. The students have to obtain 30 % marks in it to clear the condition.

9.         The students not fulfilling above condition will not be admitted in university exams.

10.       The student caught in cheating case during house test will be fined Rs. 500/- and he will be marked Zero in house test.

 

Attendance:-

1.         Teachers will mark attendance of the respective class daily.

2.         Students must ask for their attendance from respective teachers. The complaint about the lecture shortages in end of the session will not be entertained.

3.         The students must take notice of their attendance in the class. The student himself will be responsible for being marked absent.

4.         The parents/guardians of students must ask about their ward's lectures, conduct and behaviour and performance in house tests from time to time. College will not be held responsible for any kind of negligence on part of students.

5.         As per university rules, the students must have at least 75% presence (in series) in lectures and practicals. The students not fulfilling such condition will not be allowed to attend University Exams.

Rules for leave :-

1.         Students must ask for leave by filling particular form.

2.         The leave for one week can be sanctioned from the tuitor and for more time can be sanctioned by a senior tuitor.

3.         The students must go on leave only after getting the leave sanctioned.

4.         The leave application will not be considered after spending leave.

5.         During leave (either for sickness or regular) the student will be marked as absent.

6.         Only the fine will be remitted for remaining absent during leave and no other privilege will be provided.

7.         The student will be held responsible for bearing loss for not attending the house test due to leave. Therefore students must consider their loss before taking leave.

8.         The medical leave must be submitted before house tests. No application will be considered afterwards.

9.         The student going on leave can attend the 2nd house test but if they do not attend the special test then they will not be provided with any other facility of tests.

Identity Cum library Card:-

1.         Every student must get I Card by submitting a Black & White Photo and original receipt of admission in library. I Card can be checked any time.

2.         In case of I card being missed/lost, the complaint must be lodged in Police Station afterwards it must be informed to library/tutor and I card will be issued for the 2nd time only after paying Rs. 50 as fine.

3.         During getting roll no. or leaving the college I card must be submitted in library.

General Rules:-

1.         Those students who would remain absent for seven consequent days without any leave application or those who would not submit their fees within the given dates, their names would be struck off from the college. In such cases, readmission would be possible only by bringing along the parents and taking permission from the principal.

2.         The fee would not be returned (i) once the student has taken his admission (ii) his/her name is struck off (iii) on leaving the college. (iv) After taking admission the fee would not be returned if his/her name is struck off or he/she has to leave the college.

3.         If any student's character/behaviour is found objectionable, his/her name would be struck off from the college register.

4.         In case of being absent from the college without prior permission, the student shall be fined 50 paise per period and 1 rupee per day.

5.         In case of being absent from the tutorial meetings without prier permission the students shall be fined 1 rupee per meeting.
