Zonal Youth Festival
The students of M. R. Govt. College took part in the various events conducted at the Zonal Youth Festival held at Guru Nanak College for Girls, Muktsar. Out of these events, the skit (Tuhada Ki Khayal Hai) stood first. Sandeep Kaur backed the individual prize for 'the best actor' for the this skit. In creative writing, our student Pooja won the first prize and Geetika bagged the second prize in Mehandi Competition. Gurwinder Singh our student of B.A.III also bagged the third position as an individual performer in Malwai Gidha.
In Inter Zonal Competitions our skit got the thrid prize. The name of the participants are as follows :-

Our student Lakhvir Singh S/o Sh. Bhagwan Singh grabbed Gold Medal (weight lifting) in Inter College Tournament of Punjab University, Chandigarh.
Our student Master Shalender Singh grabbed Bronze Medal (Wrestling) in Inter College Tournament of Punjab University, Chandigarh.
Rules regarding the Roll of honour on the basis of cultural activities .
1) Roll of honour on the basis of cultural activities would be given to those who have obtained 40 marks in one field in one year. These marks would be counted as follows: 4 marks for the first position in inter-college competitions, 3 marks for the second position and 2 for third. If a team wins a shield or trophy, each member would get one mark. The organization conducting the competition should be approved by the University. (Youth Festival does not come under the rules mentioned in this para).
2) A student who bags an individual prize at the inter-zonal or inter-university level would be entitled to a Roll of honour
3) If a team wins the first position at the inter-zonal university level, one student from the team would be given a 'Roll of Honour'
4) A student who has won a prize in extra-curricular activities at inter university or state level will be eligible for 'Roll of Honor'.
5) "Roll of Honor" would be given in case a student bags the first prize (individual) for consequently three years.
Note: A student whose behaviour is not satisfactory would not be given a "roll of honor".
Rules regarding the college color on the basis of cultural activities.
1) A student who bags the first prize in an individual item at the zonal Youth Festival shall be entitled to the college color.
2) College color would be given to three members of the teams which wins the first prize at Zonal Youth Festival. The team must have more than five participants. If the team has five or less than five participants, only two colors would be given from the team standing second, one member would be given the college color.
3) College color would be given to all the members of the team standing first at the inter-zonal Youth Festival.
4) If a team backs the second prize at the inter-zonal youth festival and it has more than five members, the team would be given two colors. One Color would be given in case the team has less than five members.
College color and 'Roll of Honour' in NCC.
1) A student who has got the 'B' or 'C' Certificate or if he has won the first or second position in the combined annual training camp will be entitled to college color.
OR
If the student has taken part in the annual training camp or combined training camp and has achieved a merit certificate from the commanding officer.
OR
If the student has been declared the best cadet in an Army Attachment Camp or Army National level camp at college or battalion level.
2) Roll of honor will be given at the decision of college council. Those students will be given rolls of honor who have achieved the "C" Certificate and have participated in the All India Republic Day Parade or have got the first prize in any National/State/ University level combined annual training camp competition. The roll of honor would also be given to students who have made an appreciable achievement at an All India Summer Training Camp/ Inter-Director Camp / All India Advance Leadership Camp DCATC/ Army Attachment Camp and have got a merit Certificate from the Commanding Officer or have got the first / second position at an all India level event.
